The Space Between

The Space Between explores those fleeting zones where perception, memory, and physicality overlap. The exhibition spans a spectrum ranging from Hermann Nitsch’s radical gestures to Arnulf Rainer’s existential overpaintings, to the intensely colorful energy flows of Markus Prachensky and the poetic, archaic visual worlds of Gunter Damisch.

In dialogue with these are younger artists such as Stefan Glettler, Alfredo Barsuglia, Petra Schweifer, Wolfgang Becksteiner, and Wendelin Pressl, who use humor, experiments with materials, and spatial interventions to open up new perspectives on the in-between.

Between expressiveness and stillness, presence and absence, a vibrant field of tension emerges that demands not only to be viewed but also to be experienced. The Space Between invites us to understand gaps as spaces of possibility—places where meaning takes on new form and art becomes an immediate experience.

To accompany the exhibition, we are presenting our new catalog for spring 2026.
